Baboon night at the Houblon Inn, Oasby

For hundreds of years at the same time every year, the villagers of Oasby in Lincolnshire meet to celebrate a tragic event.  Many years ago, it was fashionable for the gentry to own exotic animals.  One family in particular owned a baboon which killed a baby. Villagers gather outside the Houblon Inn and march around the village making as much noise as possible to scare the baboon out of hiding (actually, it's a chap in a monkey suit).  Once they've walked round the village, they return to the pub where the landlord won't allow anyone in until one of the villagers has thrown a stuffed monkey over the roof of the pub.
