The fotoGeeks 2011 Grand Challenge.

Here's your chance for fame (but probably not fortune). Our 2011 Grand Challenge is now open. We're announcing all of our Challenges upfront to let you keep them in mind when you're out and about with your camera. We'll be voting on a category every 3 weeks or so with the aim of having all the 'winners' selected by the middle of November. We'll then take the 12 winning photos, plus the winner of the long exposure competition and make the 2012 fotoGeeks calander available in time for Christmas. We need 13 photos in total (one for each month, plus the calendar cover). Here are the categories in the order we're going to be voting on them:

1. Landscape
2. Architecture
3. Portrait
4. HDR
5. Black and White
6. Transport
7. Feet
8. Blue
9. Macro
10. Holiday
11. Wildlife
12. Weather

Entries can be landscape or portrait format but if you'd like your photo to possibly appear in the calendar, your entry must be in landscape format. Also, please keep hold of the original source file in as higher resolution as possible, as we'll need to upload this to the printers when we make the calendar. Also, please mark all Challenge posts with the label 'Challenge' so I stand a fighting chance of finding them in amongst all of the other posts on this site.

Naturally, you're not obliged to enter every Challenge category. We'll be voting for the best 'Landscape' photograph in about three weeks time. I have created a box on the right hand side of the screen as a constant reminder of the Challenge categories.
